Our infusion therapy involves more than just delivering intravenous medications. Convenience, comfort and the expertise of our nursing and clinical pharmacy team make up the core of our services. Patients requiring intravenous medication can receive their IV therapy at home or in comfortable, private suites.

Experienced Infusion Team

Since BJC Infusion Services is a part of BJC HealthCare, we bring outstanding resources to IV therapy. Patients receive the added security and comfort that come from knowing they will be seen by a licensed professional every visit.

Our registered nurses have chemotherapy certification, PICC certification and an average of eight to ten years of infusion experience. Their expertise reduces the incidents of needle stick restarts, infections and related intravenous (IV) complications.

Infusion Suites

At BJC Home Care, we care for our patients as people, not as numbers. We offer patients comfortable, private suites in which to receive their infusion therapy. Our suites provide easy access to infusion services:

1935 Beltway Drive
St. Louis, MO 63114

4438 Telegraph Road
St. Louis, MO 63129

2220 South State
Route 157, Suite 300
Glen Carbon, IL 62034

Registered pharmacists are on-premises to consult if there is any question on medications or issues. All patients are assessed prior to, during and post infusion and a plan of care is created for each patient.

Home Infusion

Patients requiring intravenous (IV) medication can receive their IV therapy at home. The infusion team works closely with the physician, patient and caregiver to provide drug therapies and support to help patients resume normal activities sooner and with fewer restrictions. Home infusion treatments have proven to be safe, effective and less costly than inpatient care.

Our home infusion team includes pharmacists, registered dietitians and registered nurses who are PICC and chemotherapy trained for home infusion and nutritional therapies. The team assesses the patient in the home and provides drug administration monitoring, as well as educating and training the patient and caregiver about the therapy. We use the most advanced infusion therapy technology and coordinate all professional services, including nutritional assessments and laboratory procedures. We also offer 24-hour on-call nursing and pharmacy services.

BJC Home Infusion is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Insurance Coverage

Home infusion therapy may cost up to 50 percent less than hospitalization, and most therapies administered in the infusion suites are covered by commercial insurance and Medicaid.

Certain infusion therapies are not covered by Medicare. Patients receiving IV therapy with required administration in an ambulatory infusion center are not covered for reimbursement in the treatment rooms. However, if the Medicare patient has secondary insurance and does not meet the homebound criteria to be treated at home, the infusion suites can be used for lab draws and line care needs.
