Mary DeSmet, my wife's occupational therapist, has a professional attitude that is obvious in all she does. She really puts one at ease while she is directing the therapy session.
She has such a positive attitude that one attempts to do all that is asked of them. She is knowledgeable about the doctor's orders and implements them in all she does and makes sure the patient has a thorough understanding of what is being done and why.
My wife looks forward to the therapy sessions with Mary. She is a credit to BJC Home Care Services.

Jan VanBeek was knowledgeable, progressive, thorough and very effective in bringing Keith to the point that he could continue with his therapy on an outpatient basis. She knows and shares information that we were not told by other health care professionals and that made the experience all the more beneficial. When I returned home from the hospital after surgery for a broken ankle, I was completely unprepared. I immediately had a visit with my home health nurse, Dianna Simpson. When I voiced concern to her that I would be unable to handle the situation at home, she immediately called Jackie Rand, PT, who arrived within a very short time. Jackie's confident manner and reassurance that I was going to be fine at home calmed me.

I knew from the moment I started working with her that I was in good hands doing physical therapy in my home. I found Jackie to be extremely resourceful and positive. While working with her I compared notes with others who had been in similar situations. My experience was far superior to theirs.
Until recently, I was unaware that individuals could choose any home health care agency that they wished. I will certainly recommend BJC Home Care Services to anyone who should have such a need in the future.

This note is to commend the team of experts that rehabilitated me after my five-week hospitalization after major abdominal surgeries. Now, I feel completely restored to my pre-hospital status.
Physical therapist Katherine Merick spent the most time and effort with me: instructing, correcting and encouraging me with exercises until my agility equaled my pre-hospital level. I owe her the greatest debt.

I want to highly commend three of the young women within BJC Home Care: Melody Pitt, RN; Jacqueline Gunn, PT; and Alicia Stone, OT.
After I was released from the hospital, I thought I was making some progress at home, but suddenly had more problems. Melody had just arrived to see me, and she immediately ascertained that I needed to go back to the hospital. She made all the arrangements and I spent four more days at Missouri Baptist. When I was released, the very same Home Health Care team began working with me again. How comforting that was.
The personalities of my three BJC care-givers were very different from one to another, but they worked together like a well-oiled machine. I knew I was in good hands - and they were fun, too. They have turned me over to the physical therapists here at Friendship Village, but Jacqueline even called me to make sure that I was going well. What more could anyone expect?
Please let Melody, Jacqueline and Alicia know that I am indebted to them for many reasons. This is not just a job for them, it's a calling. I am thankful they were here for me. God bless them.

My husband, Paul, was in your visiting nurses program. He was released by the nurse today. This letter is just to let you know that Alex Meurer did a wonderful job helping my husband after his open heart surgery. She was always cheerful and uplifting to both of us. More importantly, she was very professional and well educated in her field. I am so happy that she was assigned to my husband's case. Thanks to her, he is now well on the way to a full recovery.

As the main caregiver for the past six months, Dan was an important part of my husband's rehabilitation and recuperation. He was always on time and showed up with a smile on his face and in a good mood. This means so much when a patient is not feeling well. Dan never hesitated to go above and beyond what was expected of him and he even took the time to speak to our son who lives out of town. Dan was a great resource when we needed advice or when there were questions that we could not answer.

I am writing to commend your employee, Lyri, who provided physical therapy services after my left knee replacement. Not only was she very professional, but I also found her to be very compassionate in offering encouragement. She was always able to give me that extra "push" that was needed to reach my goals, without altering our pleasant relationship. She always called me the night before our appointments to let me know approximately what time she would arrive. This was very helpful so I could be prepared for our "torture sessions."
I would certainly recommend her to anyone in need of home therapy, and in the event I find myself in need of such services in the future, I will definitely request that she be assigned to my case.

Thank you for the wonderful care you gave to our mother. I know at times, she might have surprised you with the things she said and did. She was trying so hard to do as she was told.
Every time we saw her, we always told her to stay inside the building. She tried so hard. She would say, "I don't know what is happening to me. Sometimes it feels like my brain does not want to work. It scares me." We kept telling her that sometimes her brain just short circuits.
She felt secure with all of you. She did not know your names, but she recognized your faces. Those faces were her safety net. She knew that when you came up to talk, or give some type of care, that she would be safe and secure with you there. We thank you for the special care you gave her.
Throughout the complex of Villa Rose, I would see you stop what you were doing to assist any resident that needed assistance. I call people like you "Angels of Mercy."
I know each and every resident at Villa Rose will get the same level of love and care as mother received.

I am writing to express my gratitude for the services given to me by my therapist, Jan Van Beet. The first time we met, I knew she would be excellent working with me. She showed professionalism and confidence to make me achieve the goals she had planned for me to get better. She achieved every goal. When she first started with my therapy I was at a minimum level, but my last visit I was almost at the max.
She taught me how to be consistent and follow through with my exercises on the days she didn't come. I was determined to get better due to the extra push given to me by her.

When I was discharged from the hospital in February, I was locked in and couldn't go anywhere except to the doctor, barber shop and church. Carol Gruber, a nurse; Jyoti Mayenker, my social worke; and Nancy Weigand, nurse and drill sergeant; were all well schooled and knew their jobs at a very high level. My wife and I want to thank BJC Home Care Services for the loving care that Maria Voneerhaar, RN; Karen Ralph, OT; and Stephanie Reed, PT have extended to my wife. They each have done exemplary work for her.
Stephanie and Karen actually came to our house on their day off and devised a system so she could get up and down our steps using devices we had here at home, which completely changed her life. She no longer felt trapped in her home and knew that she could get out and do things that she was used to doing prior to developing her problem.

BJC Home Care Services provided excellent care and service to my husband during his recovery from heart bi-pass surgery.
The physical therapist, Chuck Hubbard, was great. He had excellent suggestions while doing the exercises and praise for doing them well. The home health nurse Vickie Nash was superior. She did more than the usual taking of vital signs. She followed up on any health problems and was the go-between the patient and the doctor. She is an A plus nurse in giving care, personality and her concern for my husband.
